The Back Bar of NZ Bar Con(vention): The Sponsors

Back Bar Sponsor Logos

The back bar of any hospitality bar or restaurant venue is an important tool. It can be part of a venue’s identity, showcasing the premium offerings for customers. It can be part of their brand marketing, highlighting the quality, depth of range, and diversity of the back bar menu.

The bar’s speed rail is the go-to when mixing up the standards. These classics can reinforce turnover and be the consistency of an establishment, much like the staff serving them. There is a good foundation of those working in the industry who are working the speed rails, making some cash while working on another career. But there is no denying these people are indispensable for what can often be seen as a transient industry.

Behind every speed rail is an innovative back bar supporting that venue. Behind every casual worker, there are those who are in this as a career. Those who enjoy the life of hospitality and want to inspire and share their knowledge with others who come and experience their venues, be that as staff or customers.

How do you build this back bar? By cultivating relationships, featuring the strength of support that lies in those relationships and bringing them together. Putting them up on those shelves to show what we do as an industry. That this is a career you can be proud of.

When Andrea and Sarah came back to NZ about 5 years ago, a thought steadily grew around how the hospitality industry could be better supported. This was the crux of NZ Bar Con (vention). Finding a way to help enhance the back bar of not just a venue, but the industry as a whole.

The premium back bar shelves of NZ Bar Con(vention) are without a doubt stocked up by the sponsors who have whole heartedly gotten behind this event. They have supported numerous takeovers with top international venues, masterclass tastings and hospo parties. They have been the shiny new bottles featured on the top shelf. The back bar marketing support that helped get the word out to the industry which has resulted in six sessions selling out, with many more near capacity.

From an idea born out of experience and love for hospitality, NZ Bar Con (vention) would not exist were it not for the strength of the back bar, the sponsors. Both Andrea and Sarah would sincerely like to thank, in no particular order; Blanc, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Federal Merchants & Co, Fever Tree, Gilmours, Hancocks, Love Ponsonby, Mineral, Pernod Ricard NZ, Proof and Company, The Bar Society, Thirsty Camel and Tickety-Boo.

Now get out, pull down a bottle and enjoy the inaugural New Zealand Bar Con (vention) as you would that fully stocked back bar.
